Even without the resurgence of static web hosting’s, finding the best hosting for HTML website is an incredibly important endeavors.

As the backbone of the web HTML serves as the markup language for more than 92% of all websites.

If you want to experiment with building your own website or blog, free web hosting is a good place to start.

It’s understandable that you want to keep your expenses to a minimum, which is why you’re reading this.

The good news is that you will find five services here that are completely free. But even though these are the best out there, there are still many drawbacks compared to paying for web hosting.

This will become apparent very quickly as you start using a free service but depending on your reasons for creating a website, you may be able to live with the limitations.

Free hosting providers broadly fall into two camps.

First there are those that allow you to build your website or blog using any platform you choose such as WordPress or Joomla.

In the other camp are free website builders like Jindo and Weebly where you can’t just use some online storage space: you must use the provider’s own tools to create and edit your pages. This means you are limited to all the features on offer, from image galleries to other on-page elements.

Both of these methods have advantages and disadvantages and you will find both

So what is the biggest drawback of free web hosting?

Usually free packages do not include your own domain name. You either need to use the provider’s sub-domain (eg techadvisor.hostingprovider.net) or pay to register your own domain (eg www.techadvisor.com). And if you have to pay, it’s not really free.

More importantly a sub-domain looks less professional and may not rank in Google. And ranking well can be one of your priorities because few people want a website that no one will ever find.

There may be other limitations, such as the number of pages you have on your site. Providers may advertise on those pages to recover server costs. You may find that your website is loading very slowly or that you have a maximum number of visitors per month: hosting a website is not free with a provider, so if you do not pay the cost, something will have to pay.

There’s unlimited bandwidth and unlimited disk space here, which sounds great, but the reality is that if your site gets too big or gets too many visitors, it’s likely to slow down significantly.

Infinity Free uses a variation of the trusted cPanel hosting control panel to allow you to, for example, set up email addresses, email forwarders, and access the file manager.

It also includes the popular Softaculous application installer that allows you to easily install WordPress, Joomla, Drupal and many other applications in just a few clicks. When you sign up, you can get a free epizy.com subdomain (for example, techadvisor.epizy.com) or you can sign up and pay for a regular domain name.

Weebly is primarily a website builder that comes with free hosting. Unlike ByetHost, Infinity Free and Freehosting.com you do not have access to the hosting server and you can only use hosting with the dedicated website builder.

Like other free providers, you can of course pay for upgrades. Weebly’s free plan implies that your site is on a Weebly subdomain.

This makes the free plan only really suitable for personal and hobby sites. For £4 per month, you can upgrade to add a full domain to your site (for example, it could be techadvisor.com instead of techadvisor.weebly.com), but you’ll need to upgrade further at £9 ($6) per month plan to lose the Weebly brand at the bottom of
