India to introduce visa category for travelers seeking Ayurveda 2022
India will soon introduce a new visa category for foreign nationals who want to visit the country for traditional treatments like Ayurveda. Unani and Siddha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced today.
Wellness centers based on Ayurveda Unani and Siddha could be very popular Modi said that very soon, India is going to introduce a special Ayurveda Yoga and naturopathy Unani Siddha and Homeopathy visa category. This will benefit people traveling to India for Ayahs therapy our New Delhi correspondent said.
The Indian Prime Minister was speaking after inaugurating the Global Ayahs Investment and Innovation Summit in Gandhinagar his home state of Gujarat.
Modi said the government will create a network of AYUSH parks to promote research and development of AYUSH products across the country.
He recounts the Ayurvedic success story of Rosemary Doing daughter of former Kenyan Prime Minister Rail Doing. Rosemary Doing regained her eyesight after Aarush’s treatment, Modi said.
Rosemary Doing was in the audience and the Prime Minister introduced her to the gathering which gave her a thunderous applause.
In 2014, the AYUSH sector was less than US$3 billion and today it has grown to more than US$18 billion, he added.
